About 540 feet above sea level.
What is the weather like?
July in Ohio is warm with daytime humidity frequently above 80%. Average daily highs are around 85-90 degrees Fahrenheit (29-32 degrees Celsius) with lows around 65-70 degrees (18-21 degrees Celsius). Weather in the Midwestern United States can be unpredictable. Be prepared for thunderstorms. All of Miami University’s 2012 IDRS Conference venues are air-conditioned and located within close proximity.
What sort of clothing should I bring?
Comfortable, casual clothing is accepted at all establishments except the most formal and expensive. There is no need to bring any warmer clothes or any formal business wear. A Broom Ball Tourney is planned for all interested IDRS registrants. Broom Ball is the quintessential pasttime of Miami University students. Played on the ice of the Miami University Champion Hockey Team, players in street shoes aim to recreate Field Hockey on ice! Dynamic Double Reeds, the Double Reed Broom Ball Team, recommends wearing long pants and long shirts when playing…as ice is chilly.
Where should I go after arriving at Miami University?
Registration will take place on the main floor of Philip R. Shriver Center. There will be signage to direct visitors.
Will my reeds be OK?
Yes, your reeds…and you…will love Ohio!
